Throughout history, certain individuals have possessed genius, talent and creativity. Society has benefited from their contributions to such fields of science, technology, and the fine and performing arts.

These same individuals have also experienced difficulties in school due to learning differences or disabilities that prevented them from achieving in a traditional educational setting.

These are the basic characteristics that define the twice exceptional (2e) learner. Many of our most gifted and talented students are falling through the cracks in school because their divergent learning styles, unique problem solving skills, compensatory strategies, and some of their unique talents and abilities fall outside the guidelines of current educational standards.

TECA is invested in promoting strength-based educational initiatives to support these high potential students through advocacy and talent development/mentor programming designed to nurture and develop their talents and abilities.

It is our goal to help our twice exceptional learners become the icons of the 21st century.
